Coach Alvarez joined LHS in 2018 as an assistant coach coming from Northwest Rankin High School. He was part of the coaching staff at NWR were they won the 6A championship in 2017. As a Commodore, he has been part of the coaching staff for 7 years reaching state championship appearances in 2023, 2024, and 2025 resulting in a 2025 5A State Championship. He is also part of the coaching staff at Oxford Futbol Club.
